Schumacher, Vettel, Alonso, Valtteri Bottas: What to watch out for this weekend
Ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, the drivers were asked about their pre-race plans for the weekend.
And here’s what they had to say.
McLaren team principal Zak Brown: “The big thing is the tyres.
The tyres have been fantastic and we’re looking forward to seeing them out on track.”
We have a lot of good races ahead of us.
We’ll be back on track tomorrow [Friday] morning.
The drivers: “You know we’ve got to work hard, we have to put our foot down, we’ve gotta make the tyres last.
We need to push the pace, we need to be aggressive.
We have to fight.”
Vettel: “When we get on the throttle it’s like we’re going at speed.
We don’t have time to think and to analyse things.
We’re not thinking too much, so the team are doing a great job, and we are very pleased.”
McLachlan: “It’s very difficult to be up on the podium because you’re not even at the front.
That’s what I’m looking forward for.”
Hamilton: “I think the drivers are really focused, and it’s great to see how much work is put into every single car, and how good everyone is at driving.”
Valtteris Bottas on how he feels ahead of this weekend: “We have to be as consistent as we can be.
We’ve got the best tyre on the planet, but we still have to get it right, so we’ve to make sure we get the balance right and we have a good pace.”
The track will be a challenge, but it will be great to have the pace on the track.
